Our Program

Our Program

Cedar Lake Camp may seem like a traditional camp, but each camper’s experience is wholly and completely unique. Our age-appropriate programming is designed to be fun, stimulating, and engaging for every kind of camper while introducing many different types of adventures in athletics, water sports, arts, outdoor adventure, science, and drama.

Divisional Structure

Campers are placed and bunked by age and grade, into 6 divisions. Each representing their respective grade. Within each division, there are typically 6 cabins with 12-16 campers and 4 counselors.

  • Miriam (Entering 7th grade girls)
  • Joseph (Entering 7th grade boys)
  • Esther (Entering 8th grade girls)
  • Reuben (Entering 8th grade boys)
  • Golan (Entering 9th grade girls)
  • Masada (Entering 9th grade boys)

Outdoor Adventure

The Pocono Mountains and forests are transformed into our playground filled with zip-lines, climbing walls, biking trails, hiking trips, and more. Challenged and inspired to go beyond their comfort zone, campers become more confident, brave, and skilled in our wide variety of outdoor activities and excursions.

Sports

We offer an array of recreational and competitive sports that are played on our premier facilities. Our experienced coaches provide instruction in each activity that is designed to meet the needs of each individual’s ability.

Waterfront

Our 100-acre private lake is the perfect place to learn how to kayak, canoe, paddle board, and more. Best yet, campers can receive their Pennsylvania Boating License and learn how to drive a jet-ski! Or, take a ride down the 100 foot water slide and hop onto the full-sized water trampoline. It’s all fun in the sun here.

Stem

Our STEM program takes learning to the next level and beyond the typical classroom setting. From teaching campers how to code lego robots, to physics, chemistry, sports science and more, experiments await all who enter the NJY Science Center.

Arts

Wondering what happens when creativity meets inspiration? Through our vast art offerings, we encourage campers to channel their inventiveness while allowing their imagination to flow freely. From painting and drawing to pottery wheels, digital media to jewelry making, there are endless opportunities to bring out the artist in everyone.

The Jewish Experience

Campers become part of a Jewish communal experience where they gain a connection to Israel and our rich Jewish heritage in a fun and relaxed setting. Cedar Lake Camp is an environment that celebrates Jewish identity and proudly embraces Jewish values. Our unique and spirited Shabbat services are led by song leaders and campers, and include favorite camp songs, skits, creative prayers, and stories. Our connection to Israel is fostered by our Israeli campers and staff, and greatly enhances the overall Jewish experience for our campers.

To complement Shabbat, we run a Root Values program that introduces our campers to values such as friendship (Chaverut), respect (Kavod), and kindness (Chesed), all of which are essential to creating the beautiful Cedar Lake community as we know it. Campers can even nominate their peers to win awards for exhibiting these Root Values throughout the summer.

Four happy campers.
